New Acer Aspire 1300xc Battery is shipped out to customer in a discharged condition or with very low capacity and must be drained before use. We generally recommend an overnight charge (approximately twelve hours). Refer to the user's manual for charging instructions. Rechargeable batteries should be cycled (fully charged and then fully discharged) three to five times initially to make them reach full capacity. (Note: it is normal that battery becomes warm during charging and discharging).

2. Then fully charge the battery.
3. Fully charge and fully discharge the battery or "cycle" at least five times to condition the battery into performing at full capacity.
